The Unit devises and implements communication strategies through various media with the aim of explaining the philosophy of the University, disseminating information about programmes available, clarifying procedures to be followed and helping the public (locally and internationally) make informed decisions about studying at OU.
Methods of public communication includes TV, Radio, Online (Web, Social Media) Communication and Corporate Advertising in mixed media.
Printed documents like brochures, flyers and posters are other strong communication tools to used to disseminate corporate information across local and international borders. A large number of public queries through emails (to seek info about courses, enrolment, etc...), from both local and international residents and attended to.
Event management is another core activity of the unit. The Unit organises a number of events like fairs, exhibitions, open days, induction sessions, symposia, conferences, etc..
Press releases, press relations, internal communication and general corporate writing are ongoing activities of the Unit.
